X3English has officially launched the GOGA app, which combines a practical methodology with a gamification feature to grab user interest in learning English.

According to the Swiss organization EF’s new announcement of the global English Proficiency Index (EF EPI) in November 2021, Vietnam ranks 66th out of 112 countries and territories that do not consider English as their native language. The ranking of this year is one level lower than the previous year, placing Vietnam in the low group.

Faced with the above-said situation, the X3English development team has found that young Vietnamese are not inferior in the intellectual arenas of the world, but they haven’t yet proficient in English. The main reason is the learning curriculum, which prioritizes grammar over communication skills, and the surrounding environment, which provides few opportunities for practice. “This also leads to a state of being discouraged easily when learning a new language,” said the X3English representative.

As a result, the X3English team has developed GOGA using proven academic principles and gamification features, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) technology, to create a highly interactive learning environment among members of the GOGA community.

The practical methodology, according to Mr. Nguyen Tien Nam, Director of X3English, is a practice-based learning principle that considers English as a tool for communication. Instead of learning from books, users can practice directly with the GOGA app. At the same time, the use of AI technology enables GOGA to provide quick, effective feedback while also lowering costs for learners.

“We expect to further develop The Real AI Tutor technology, which is an upgraded version, next year, to help learners have more experiences like talking directly with native speakers,” he added.

Learners can practice listening, speaking, and responding more quickly when using GOGA, thanks to three techniques: deep listening, catching up, and rapid response. AI technology is used to assist learners by detecting, reporting, and correcting errors in pronunciation exercises.

Furthermore, Mr. Nam added, in order to limit boredom when learning English, GOGA is moving toward gamification while also developing daily tasks and online English practice arenas. As a result, language learning will be simplified and appealing, encouraging learners to practice more frequently.

“Regardless of how good the learning principle is, without motivating and addictive components, the application will not solve the problem for learners,” said X3English’s director.

Learners can access the GOGA application on all platforms and devices starting February 16 and try out the first two features, Pronun and Arena. With Pronun, learners progress through three stages: Core Pronun (core pronunciation), Deep Pronun (Intensive Pronunciation), and Advanced Pronun (Advanced Pronunciation).

The path is constructed from 72 pronunciation instruction videos from native teachers. Simultaneously, learners practice pronouncing 40 sounds according to American English standards using the built-in feature of AI voice recognition technology and accurate feedback, letting learners know whether they are pronouncing correctly or incorrectly.

Through speaking contests, learners will compete with thousands of learners from around the world in the Arena feature. Participants will compete against one another and win rankings by day, week, and month, as well as participate in the Big Game quarterly and at the end of the year. Those who learn hard and achieve high rankings will receive benefits in the application such as items for in-game characters and GOGA Token – the main currency used in the GOGA app to exchange and purchase items.

GOGA will develop more blockchain application features in the near future to provide more benefits to learners and increase motivation through “Learn to Earn” activities that not only enhance the learning result but also provide real value.
